Guidance on compliance, energy assessments and upgrading obsolete R22 equipment.
F-Gas is the term used to describe fluorinated gases, man-made substances used as refrigerants in air conditioning and refrigeration systems. Containment of these gases is essential to minimise their environmental impact, and EU regulations require operators to monitor and record refrigerant levels.
All buildings with more than 12kW of air conditioning cooling must complete an Air Conditioning Energy Assessment. Aerocool can undertake these assessments on your behalf, allowing you to review the report before it is lodged.
Following the ban on R22 refrigerant, Aerocool offers conversion or full replacement solutions for ageing R22 systems, including a site inspection, a detailed report and recommendations for the most cost-effective option.
Operators of systems with refrigerant must monitor levels, carry out leak checks via fully qualified and certified personnel, and maintain records of any refrigerant added, recovered or checked.
It is not currently illegal to continue using R22 refrigerant in an air conditioning unit, however without the ability to service or repair, this could be detrimental to a property.
